Fatah official falsely claims that Israel perpetrated Sabra and Shatila massacre

Headline: “Tirawi: The anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila [massacre] is an open wound of allowing Palestinian blood to be spilled”
“Fatah Movement Central Committee member [and Fatah Commissioner of Popular Organizations] Tawfiq Tirawi said on the anniversary of the Sabra and Shatila massacre that… the Sabra and Shatila massacre is an open bleeding wound in the scarred Palestinian memory, and that it was not the first massacre that the occupation had perpetrated against the Palestinians, and would also not be the last.”

Sabra and Shatila are Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon. In 1982, during the first Lebanon War, Muslim residents of the camps were massacred by Christian Phalangists. The PA has a longstanding policy of falsely accusing Israel of committing the massacre or actively helping to carry it out.
