Ambassador of Palestine to the European Union, Belgium, and Luxembourg Abd Al-Rahim Al-Fara… emphasized that Land Day is one of the few national and pan-Arab events that sums up all of the significance of the Palestinian cause: resolve, resistance, resistance to colonialism and settlement, and unity of all of the sons of the one Palestinian homeland – from Rafah to Rosh HaNikra (i.e., an Israeli city in the Galilee) – against the occupier…
He said: ‘Our compass is only Palestine, in a struggle that has lasted more than 100 years for the purpose of expelling the invaders and establishing the Palestinian state.’”

Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
