Op-ed in official PA daily refers to the State of Israel as a “colonialist settlement enterprise” and Us Ambassador David Friedman as a “criminal”

Excerpt of an op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily

Headline: “There is no coexistence under occupation”

“It is no surprise when colonialist diplomats or their allies turn the facts upside down in order to justify their occupation and crimes…
One of the examples of insolence, lawlessness, baseness, and contempt is the statement of US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, who stated on Monday [April 23, 2018, at an event] for the establishment of Israel on the ruins of the Palestinian people’s Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” the Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) at the Begin Heritage Center, that ‘There is an admirable model of coexistence in Jerusalem’! …
There is no need to explain who Friedman is and what his role is in the Israeli colonialist settlement enterprise, because it is already known to all, and his colonialist position exposes the emptiness, wretchedness, and bankruptcy in what the despicable American ambassador said. What coexistence is he talking about? And what is ‘admirable’ about it? Is it the series of violations and war crimes that the soldiers and officers in the Israeli army of death, border police, and Israeli police are committing? Or the theft of homes and their expropriation? Or the murder and burning of child Martyr (Shahid) Muhammad Abu Khdeir (i.e., Palestinian teen murdered by Israeli extremists)? …
I would like to tell the criminal American ambassador that there is no occupation in the world that can be lived with in coexistence.”

Speaking at an event for Israeli Independence Day at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center in Jerusalem on April 23, 2018, American Ambassador to Israel David Friedman said: “When you think of the conflicts that have raged over centuries, and now you look at Jerusalem under the sovereignty of the Israeli government, how it’s been able to maintain the openness that it’s had — rather than a place of conflict, it’s actually the model for coexistence in the world.”

Muhammad Abu Khdeir - Palestinian teen kidnapped and murdered by Israeli extremists in Jerusalem on July 2, 2014, in revenge for the kidnapping and murder of Israeli teens Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Fraenkel in the West Bank on June 12. Following Abu Khdeir’s murder, Palestinians took to the streets of East Jerusalem in violent and continuous protests. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Israeli ministers immediately condemned the revenge murder in the strongest terms. Israeli police arrested six Israeli suspects on July 6 of whom three confessed to murdering Khdeir. One of the murderers, Yosef Ben-David, is serving 1 life sentence and an additional 20 years. His two accomplices, both unnamed minors, are serving 1 life sentence and 21 years respectively.
