Palestinian prisoners, many of whom were imprisoned for terror-related crimes, condemn Paris attacks and “all forms of terrorism”

“[Fatah Central Committee member and PLO] Executive Committee member Saeb Erekat told the Agence France-Presse that President Abbas would give French President François Hollande a letter from the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli prisons. In their letter, the prisoners wrote: ‘We, the prisoners of freedom in the Israeli prisons, declare our condemnation of all forms of terrorism, and declare our solidarity with France in the face of this abominable attack.’”

Note: There are 6,500 Palestinians serving time in Israeli prisons (as of December 2014), some of whom murdered or planned the murders of Israeli civilians. All of these prisoners were imprisoned for security offenses and terror related crimes. According to the PA Prisoner's Law, the word "prisoner" is defined as "anyone imprisoned in the occupation's [Israel's] prisons as a result of his participation in the struggle against the occupation." (Ch. 1 of Law of Prisoners, 2004/19, www.alasra.ps, accessed May 9, 2011)

Paris terror attacks - On Jan. 7, 2015, Muslim terrorists carried out a shooting attack at the Paris office of satirical magazine
Charlie Hebdo. 12 people were killed in the attack, which was a response to cartoons the magazine published about Islam's Prophet Muhammad. On Jan. 8, in a connected attack, a Muslim terrorist shot and killed a policewoman in Paris and on Jan. 9, he shot and killed 4 Jewish shoppers at a Paris kosher supermarket.
While Abbas officially condemned the terror attacks in France, PMW has documented different PA reactions to the attacks. Some have condemned them while at the same time condemning
Charlie Hebdo for mocking Islam's Prophet Muhammad. Others have compared the terror attacks in France to Israeli "terrorism" against Palestinians, and some have even claimed that Israel was behind the attacks.
