PLO official lauds Palestinian violence as the “permanent honorable image of our people” and calls to continue terror

“Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front and PLO Executive Committee member Dr. Wasel Abu Yusuf said that all of the Palestinian cities are vigorously participating in the present intifada, called the Knife Intifada by some of the media, since last October and until today, and the Palestinians have made enormous sacrifices which until now have reached over 200 Martyrs (Shahids). (i.e., refers to wave of Palestinian terror attacks 2015-2016)…
He added that the present intifada comes as part of the activities of the Palestinian struggle to break free of the occupation, and noted that the sacrifices made by these Martyrs will not be in vain, and hypothesized that they will bear fruit in the process of the realization of the Palestinian people’s freedom and independence, and the establishment of its independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
Abu Yusuf said that he believes that regardless of the individual actions here and there, the overall situation of the present intifada requires the joining of all efforts in order to adopt it and continue it, as it is the most realistic option of our people for ending the occupation. This is especially so in light of the preoccupations of the Arab and Islamic nation and the attempts of the international community to distance the Palestinian cause and put other issues on the international agenda…
Likewise, he hypothesized that the continued flow of waterfalls of Palestinian blood and the escalation of the popular uprising and the intifada of the young of the rocks and Molotov cocktails in the streets of Jerusalem, represent the permanent honorable image of our people, whatever the scope of their sacrifices. All of these require urgent action on the international level in order to bring about the condemnation of these [Israeli] crimes and the consideration of them as unceasing war crimes against our people in Jerusalem, the West Bank, and the Gaza Strip."
