“The Jordanian Writers’ Association discussed the novel ‘My Jewish Friend’ by the novelist Subhi Al-Fahmawi (i.e., of Palestinian origin). The novelist Subhi Al-Fahmawi said about the novel: ‘They asked me why “your Jewish friend?” and I replied: Because despite the destruction that the Palestinian people is undergoing as a result of the Israeli occupation’s crimes, and despite the fact that all the disasters befalling the Arab peoples, that without exception stem from this occupation, we do not hate Jews, but rather hate the murderous occupiers who destroy everything in front of them in every direction.’”
