PA TV presents pictures of Holocaust victims and 1974 Lebanese massacre victims as Arab victims of Israelis in 1948

Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on the 70th anniversary of the Al-Dawayima Massacre

PA TV showed a picture of dead bodies arranged in piles on the ground. The source of the picture is apparently the Tel Al-Zaatar Massacre that was committed by Lebanese Christian militias in Lebanon in 1976 – an incident in which Israel was not involved.

Visual: Text on bottom of screen: “70 years since the occupation’s massacre at the village of Al-Dawayima (see note below –Ed.)”

Text on upper part of screen: “The Jews’ massacres in Palestine… the Al-Dawayima Massacre… so that we will not forget”

PA TV also showed another picture of dead bodies arranged in piles on the ground, presenting it as from Al- Dawayima. The source of the picture is the Nazi concentration camp at Nordhausen, originally a subcamp of Buchenwald, and the bodies shown are those of Holocaust victims.

Al-Dawayima - On Oct. 29, 1948, during Israel’s War of Independence, during a battle for the capture of the Arab village of Al-Dawayima in Southern Israel, in addition to combatants, Arabs civilians were also killed. Accounts differ as to whether the civilians were killed during the fighting, as the combatants were fighting from the homes, or were killed after the fighting. While some sources claim a death toll of over 100, a UN report stated that 30 Arab women and children died in the incident.
