PA daily: Israel fabricated kidnapping of three teens as pretext for Gaza war

PA daily accuses Israel

of fabricating kidnapping and murder

of the three Israeli teens

as pretext for Gaza war

by Itamar Marcus

The accusation that Israel fabricated the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teens as a pretext for initiating the Gaza war appeared this week in an op-ed by a regular columnist in the official Palestinian Authority daily. Eyal Yifrach, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frenkel, 16, were kidnapped and murdered by Hamas terrorists on June 12, 2014.

"We are now at the beginning of the third month of the broad Israeli aggression against our people, its unity, its reconciliation and its national project. The occupation (i.e., Israel) planned this aggression, which began on June 12, after the failure of peace negotiations [with the PA]...

The aggression began on June 12 following a fabricated event for which no one took responsibility, that is, the kidnapping and murder of three Israeli teens."

[Op-ed by Yahya Rabah, columnist for the official PA daily and a member of the Fatah Leadership Committee ‎in Gaza, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, Aug. 16, 2014]

The columnist ignores a music video Hamas broadcast on TV, that Palestinian Media Watchreported on last month, in which Hamas glorified the kidnappers from Hebron:

The following is a transcript of the Hamas video above, which glorified the kidnappers of the three teens:

"Under the rock, O hawk,
hide your prey - a child
Your brothers in captivity (i.e., in Israeli prisons) tell you to keep him...
You are from Hebron, O hawk, and all are proud of you...
By Allah, O brother, I won't rest until you see light, until I see you free...
With the rifle open the [prison] cell
Kidnap soldiers till we free my brothers...
Allah will strengthen your faith
The homeland’s sun is singing your name...
The joy of the Loyalty of the Free must return (i.e., exchanging 1,027 prisoners for the kidnapped Israeli soldier Shalit)."

[This video was originally broadcast on July 16, 2014 and has been rebroadcast on Al-Aqsa TV numerous times since then.]
