The Palestinian Authority continues to present murderers as heroes to the Palestinian public. One of the two killers who murdered four worshippers in a synagogue with butcher's knives and guns and later a policeman last November in West Jerusalem, was honored as a "Martyr" in recent reports in the official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida and WAFA, the official PA news agency. The attack was referred to as "the synagogue operation":
"Large and reinforced occupation army forces invaded Jabel Mukaber today [July 1, 2015] after 3 a.m., and evacuated the home of Martyr (Shahid) Uday Abu Jamal (one of those who carried out the synagogue operation in November last year) [parenthesis in source] where the Martyr's father, mother, three brothers and sister reside."

Official PA TV also presented this killer in a sympathetic light, stating that his children were "served pain to drink" by Israel since their father, the killer, was "assassinated." PA TV did not mention that the "assassination" occurred as Abu Jamal was murdering innocent people praying in a synagogue:
"The occupation forces raided the homes of the Martyrs Mutaz Hijazi and Ghassan Abu Jamal in Jerusalem... It should be noted that the occupation assassinated the Martyr Hijazi on Oct. 30, 2014, after it surrounded him on the roof of his home, claiming he shot the extreme rabbi, Yehuda Glick."

Turning additional terrorists into heroes, PA official, District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Dr. Laila Ghannam laid wreaths on the graves of "the Martyrs of the Savoy operation." She posted this on Facebook, stating that she recited the Quranic Sura of Al-Fatiha "for their pure souls." ["Friends of Laila Ghannam" Facebook page, July 17, 2015]
In March 1975, 8 terrorists traveled by boat from Lebanon to a Tel Aviv beach. They took over the Savoy Hotel and took guests as hostages. Eight hostages and three soldiers were killed by the terrorists during the attack. The next morning, Israeli forces attacked and killed seven of the terrorists.
Laila Ghannam often praises terrorist killers. Following Palestinian Media Watch's exposure of her terror glorification, a Philadelphia Councilwoman condemned Ghannam's honoring of terrorists and considered withdrawing an award she had recently given Ghannam.

PA TV Reporter: "The occupation served them [Ghassan's children] pain to drink, rather than milk like the rest of the children in the world. The first chapter of the tragedy was the assassination of their father (i.e., terrorist who murdered 5 and was killed by Israeli Police during his attack), and afterward their expulsion from their home, before its impending demolition. And in the end, they separated them from their mother.
After Ghassan Abu Jamal died as a Martyr (Shahid) from the occupation's bullets, the occupation is now completing the slow killing of his family, not with a weapon that shoots bullets, but through means which cause them to lose the will to live."

The Abu Jamal family explained that the occupation army had broken into the family home and photographed it from outside, and that teams of experts measured and examined the house's foundations and walls as a preliminary step to the decision to demolish it."

Jerusalem synagogue terror attack - On Nov. 18, 2014, two Arab terrorists,
Ghassan and Uday Abu Jamal from East Jerusalem, entered a synagogue in
Jerusalem and attacked worshippers with guns, knives and axes, killing 4 worshippers and a police officer. 7 people were injured, 3 of them seriously. The terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire with Israeli Security Forces that arrived on the scene.
Mutaz Hijazi - Islamic Jihad member and released prisoner from Jerusalem who attempted to assassinate Rabbi Yehuda Glick, a prominent activist working to assure rights for Jews to visit and pray on the Temple Mount, on Oct. 29, 2014. The assassination attempt took place following a conference on establishing times and places for Jews to pray on the Temple Mount. Glick was seriously wounded in the attack; Hijazi was killed soon afterwards when he opened fire on an Israeli police force that was attempting to arrest him.

Ismat Mansour - assisted in the kidnapping and murder of Israeli civilian Haim Mizrahi (Oct. 23, 1993). He was serving 22 years in prison, but was released in October 2013 as one of 104 terrorists whom Israel agreed to release to fulfill the PA's precondition for renewing negotiations.
