PA Minister honors 2 terrorists serving life sentences
"Minister of Prisoners' Affairs Issa Karake, Archbishop Atallah Hanna, Greek-Orthodox Archbishop of Sebastia [Theodosios Hanna] and a delegation from the Ministry of Prisoners' Affairs, led by [released] prisoner Ahmad Abu Sukkar and MP Jihad Tamalia, visited the home of prisoners Muhmamad Khamis Barash (32)… who was arrested on Feb. 17, 2003 and given a life sentence… and his brother Ramzi (33), who is incarcerated together with him in the same prison, also serving a life sentence. He was arrested on June 10, 2004.”
Note: Ramzi Barash was a member of Tanzim (Fatah terror group). He participated in an attack in Jerusalem in 2002 in which one person was killed. He is serving a life sentence. Muhammad Barash is serving three life sentences and a further 35 years.
Ahmad Abu Sukkar planned a bombing attack in 1975 in which a refrigerator filled with explosives was detonated in Jerusalem. 15 people were killed and over 60 people were wounded. He was sentenced to life in prison plus 30 years, but was released from prison after 28 years as part of a goodwill gesture from Israel to the PA in 2003. He was a member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council and an advisor to Arafat on prisoners' affairs.
He died of a heart attack in 2013 in the PA.
