Official PA daily calls town in central Israel a "settlement community"
“Yesterday [Jan. 24, 2014], the Israel Antiquities Authority announced the discovery of a large church from the Byzantine period.
The archaeologists do not exclude the possibility that the church was a center of Christian worship for communities that resided near the site, which is currently occupied by the settlement community of Aluma.
This church was discovered during salvage excavations conducted in preparation for the construction of a new settlement neighborhood in the community of Aluma.”
