PA Ministry of Education instructs school radio stations to focus on the “ominous” Balfour Declaration

Headline: "The [PA] Ministry of Education directs the school radio stations to focus on the Balfour Promise until the anniversary of the promise"
"The [PA] Ministry of Education and Higher Education today, Monday [Oct. 16, 2017] issued a notice to the Directorates of Education and Higher Education in the different districts to call on all of the schools to direct the school radio stations to focus on the ominous Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration) from Wednesday, Oct. 18 [2017] until the [100th] anniversary of the ominous promise on Nov. 2 [2017]. The ministry explained that this step comes out of its concern to provide the students with knowledge about the consequences of this ominous promise, and also out of concern to provide the students with a methodical education about this tragedy, whose effects are still evident to this day."

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people.” In 1922, the League of Nations adopted this and made the British Mandate “responsible for putting into effect the declaration,” which led to the UN vote in 1947 and the establishment of the State of Israel.
