Fatah Central Committee member praises terrorist Mughrabi as model of “struggle”

“The head of the General Union of Palestinian Women, Fatah Central Committee member Amal Hamad, said that the Palestinian woman would retain [what she achieved in] her years of struggle for liberty and dignity. [Hamad said this] during a ceremony of appreciation organized by the Federation of Palestinian Women's Action Committees (FPWAC) in Gaza yesterday, out of loyalty to the mothers of the Martyrs (Shahids) and prisoners on the occasion of International Mother’s Day.
In a speech she gave during the ceremony, Hamad said: ‘March comes each year so that we may honor those most honorable of all – the Martyrs, the prisoners and their families – and so that we may make a commitment to them to continue along the same path and not retreat even for a moment, in order to retain [what they achieved in] their years of struggle for liberty and dignity.’ Hamad clarified that this month includes many symbols of the struggle against the occupation, since it was in this month that Dalal Mughrabi unflinchingly sacrificed her life for the homeland, so that the flag of the struggle and resistance might continue to [fly] for future generations. Also during this month, Rachel Corrie sacrificed her life when she placed herself before the occupation’s bulldozers in Rafah.”
Note: Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, killing 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70. Palestinians often refer to the attack as the “Kamal Adwan operation.”
Rachel Corrie - was run over by an Israeli army bulldozer in Gaza in 2003 while trying to prevent the bulldozers from destroying terrorist infrastructure. The Corrie family sued Israel for "wrongful death" of their daughter but the Israeli court ruled against the Corrie family, stating that the driver could not see Rachel Corrie, that she had intentionally put herself in a war zone, and that her death was a regrettable accident.
