National Forces react to Dalal Center backlash and demand to reduce prisoners salaries, as “harming our national symbols”

The forces expressed their opposition to the blow to the salaries (rawatib) of the Martyrs (Shahids) and prisoners, and the importance of thwarting all of the current attempts by the occupation to exert pressure and incite, including the decision to deduct from the tax money [Israel collects for the PA] as an exchange for the prisoners’ rights (i.e., a proposed bill to deduct the terrorists’ salaries from the taxes), which constitutes theft of Palestinian money, dirty extortion, and robbery by the occupation…
The forces emphasized that they oppose harming our national symbols, and particularly our people’s Martyrs and its prisoners, and the attempts to define them as terrorists as is currently happening with Martyr Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children), as several countries have decided to boycott a center named after her that was established in the village of Burqa. The forces added that the one who should be boycotted and be held accountable is the occupation, and not our people’s fighters who sacrificed that which is dearest to them for the basic rights and principles of our people.”
Palestinian National and Islamic Forces - an unaffiliated coordinating body comprised of representatives from factions in the PLO and outside the PLO. The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces were established in 2000 shortly after the start of the PA terror campaign (the second Intifada, 2000-2005), under the authorization of Yasser Arafat and the leadership of terrorist Marwan Barghouti. During the PA terror campaign it played an active role in coordinating political efforts and terror attacks against Israel, but since the end of the campaign it has been less significant and its activity is primarily centered in Gaza.
Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, murdering 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
