Fatah post relates story glorifying self-sacrifice and Martyrdom: “As a sign of loyalty to the blood of the Martyrs… those who gave their souls for Palestine”

Posted text: “As a sign of loyalty to the blood of the Martyrs (Shahids), those who sacrificed their blood for the homeland, and those who gave their souls for Palestine.
Heroic Martyr Widad Bahloul
When the wide-spread Israeli invasion of Lebanon began in 1982 (i.e., the First Lebanon War) and battles took place between the Palestinian revolution forces and the Israeli occupation, a general enlistment was declared in the Palestinian refugee camps in Syria to join the self-sacrificing fighters (Fedayeen) and to participate in the resistance to the invasion. Self-sacrificing fighter (Fida’iya) Martyr Widad Bahloul was in the eighth month of her pregnancy and went to the Fatah Movement office in order to join Fatah in the Al-Raml refugee camp. Her request was rejected due to her pregnancy and she turned to the Fatah office in the Al-Yarmouk refugee camp, and this request was also rejected. She managed to go to Lebanon, and more precisely to the Beqaa Valley in Lebanon, and forced herself on a Fatah training camp of Palestinian self-sacrificing fighters in the village of Taanayel in the Beqaa Valley in order to participate with them in fighting. She indeed passed a short course and went with the self-sacrificing fighters to the fronts of the fighting on the Khulda route. She was stricken with powerful labor pains, and because she was close to Martyr Abdallah Siaym, commander of the Palestinian liberation army forces, he took them to the rear lines, far from the battle, so that she could give birth to her daughter. Abdallah Siaym returned to the final battle – she refused to rest for long and left her daughter with the Palestinian Red Crescent, threatening the self-sacrificing fighters that she would commit suicide if they did not let her return to the battle. When she returned, she discovered that Abdallah Siaym had died as a Martyr in battle, and the Israeli tanks were advancing towards the positions of the Palestinian-Lebanese joint forces. She booby-trapped herself with three hand-grenades, advanced towards a tank, threw off her covering, dropped herself into the tank, and blew herself up, which led to her death as a Martyr and the killing of the Israeli soldiers who were inside the tank (PMW was unable to find any evidence of such an attack ever taking place –Ed.).
