“The [Palestinian] Central Council continued the meetings of its 29th session… at the [PA] presidential headquarters in Ramallah until today, Friday [Aug. 17, 2018], in order to discuss additional national issues.
The Central Council’s meetings began on Wednesday evening, in the presence of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas… The president emphasized that they will continue to support the families of the Martyrs (Shahids) and the prisoners, and will not allow passage of the settlement plan to build 20,000 new settlement units in occupied Jerusalem (refers to municipal construction plan announced Aug. 15, 2018, much of which is to be constructed in western Jerusalem –Ed.).”
