PA TV glorifies Fatah’s first terror attack, refers to Israel as the “enemy”
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on Fatah's “Launch” (Intilaqa), commemorated on the anniversary of its first attempted terror attack

Official PA TV host: “On Jan. 1, 1965, the first bullet was shot – the self-sacrifice operation that surprised the Israeli enemy with the destruction of the Eilabun tunnel (sic., the attempted bombing of Israel's National Water Carrier), during which fighter Ahmad [Musa] Salameh – who became the first Martyr (Shahid) of the Palestinian revolution – died as a Martyr. The Israeli response came in the words of then [Israeli] Prime Minister Golda Meir, who said: ‘A storm from the north has struck us’ (PMW could find no record of such a statement –Ed.) The Palestinian response came in the words of [former PLO Chairman and PA President] Martyr Commander Yasser Arafat: ‘These are the winds of Fatah’s storm, which burn all.’”
Bombing of Israel's National Water Carrier - On Jan. 1, 1965, Palestinian terrorists attempted to bomb Israel's National Water Carrier. This was the first attack against Israel carried out by Fatah. Fatah refers to the attack as the “Intilaqa”, meaning “the Launch” of Fatah.
Ahmad Musa - known among Palestinians as the “first Martyr of the modern Palestinian revolution.” He was killed by a Jordanian army patrol on his way back to Jordan after the first Fatah terror attack against Israel, the attempted bombing of Israel's National Water Carrier on Jan. 1, 1965.
Yasser Arafat – Founder of the PLO and Fatah, former chairman of the PA. During the 1960s, 70s and 80s Arafat was behind numerous terror attacks against Israelis. Although he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 together with then Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and then Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Shimon Peres “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East" after signing the Oslo Accords peace agreement, Arafat launched a 5-year terror campaign - the second Intifada (2000-2005) – in which more than 1,000 Israelis were murdered. Arafat died of an illness in 2004.
