PA officials compare Israel to Nazi Germany, and, like the Nazis, “are doomed to disappear”

Headline: “Jericho: Celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Russian people’s victory over the Nazis”
“The Russian ambassador to Palestine, Alexander Rudakov, expressed his hope that the Palestinian people would succeed in establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital… These statements were made during his speech at the Russian Museum hall in the Jericho city center as part of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union and the friendly Russian people’s victory over the Nazis… PLO Executive Committee member [and Fatah Central Committee member] Saeb Erekat said that the victory of the Soviets and the Russian people, and the fact that they sacrificed around 67 million [people] are a victory for truth, justice and humanity and not only for the Russian people. In addition, he said that the oppression and injustice, whatever their degree of tyranny and duration, are doomed to disappear, and that the occupation of Palestine would not last for long – regardless of how much the occupation authorities try to evade, deny and act abusively.
Deputy District Governor of Jericho and the Jordan Valley Jamal Rajoub said that the only occupation at present is the Israeli occupation, and that the anniversary of the victory of the friends in Russia over the Nazis takes place close to the 67th anniversary of the Palestinian people’s Nakba (i.e., 'the catastrophe,' Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) and to the 47th anniversary of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank’s occupation by the neo-Nazis, who oppressed and tortured the citizens and deprived them of their most basic rights. In addition, he said that the Russians’ victory over the Nazis is a glimmer of hope for us as Palestinians because we will definitely prevail.”
