Hamas "welcomes the heroic and daring" shooting attack that killed father of 5

‎ “Hamas spokesman Fawzi ‎ Barhoum ‎told AFP that his movement ‘welcomes the ‎heroic and daring operation ‎ (i.e., terror ‎attack) in Hebron, and sees it as the result ‎of the occupation’s repressive criminal ‎actions against our people, our holy sites ‎and the Al-Aqsa Mosque.’ He demanded ‎that all ‘the factions adopt the line of force ‎and resistance in their response to the ‎crimes of the occupation.’ In addition, he ‎said that ‘this operation confirms that all ‎the occupation’s repressive actions, the ‎assassinations and security coordination ‎with the PA will not dissuade the ‎resistance from fulfilling its role in ‎defending our people.’‎
For its part, the Islamic Jihad said in a ‎statement that it ‘welcomes the heroic ‎shooting operation near the Tarkumia ‎checkpoint in Hebron, in the occupied ‎Palestinian [West] Bank.’ It said that ‘the ‎operation in Hebron was a natural ‎response to the crimes of the occupation ‎and the settlers against our people in the ‎‎[West] Bank and Gaza, and especially to ‎the settlers’ infiltration into the plazas of ‎the blessed Al-Aqsa mosque. ’”‎

The terror attack referred to in this item: On ‎April 14, 2014 Palestinian terrorists shot at ‎a private vehicle on the Hebron Road, ‎killing Baruch Mizrahi, aged 47 and father ‎of five children.‎

The PA considers any presence of Jews on the Temple Mount an "invasion." However, all visitors are subject to rigorous checks by Israeli security personnel before being granted access to the Temple Mount.
