PLO Executive: Israel commits war crimes at Al-Aqsa Mosque
“PLO Executive Committee Member and Head of the Department for Jerusalem Affairs Ahmed Qurei ‘Abu Alaa’ said that the settler herds’ invasion of Al-Aqsa (i.e., the Temple Mount) through the Mughrabi Gate, their attack on the Murabitat (women who carry out Ribat, religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) and the arrest of the citizen and Old City resident Samiha Joudeh as she was entering the Mosque, amount to war crimes, perpetrated by the Israeli occupation government as part of its infringement of the [Muslim’s] freedom of worship.
Qurei reiterated his firm opposition to all violations and to the offensive of daily invasions Israel is carrying out against Al-Aqsa. Abu Alaa addressed the gravity of the situation in Jerusalem, particularly in the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, as a result of the destruction and Judaization the settlers are spreading in the Mosque’s plazas.
Qurei called for increased presence and Ribat in Al-Aqsa and its environs. He welcomed the efforts of the residents of Jerusalem to block the attacks and invasions of the settlers and extremist Jews, and the fact that they were preventing them, with chests bared, from entering the Mosque and touring its plazas.”
