Fatah spokesman boasts about Fatah terror attacks and violence against Israel

Al-Falastinia TV (PA)  |
Al-Falastinia TV interviewed Fatah spokesperson Osama Al-Qawasmi.
Fatah spokesperson Osama Al-Qawasmi: “I’m telling you, we have been fighting and resisting to the extent of our abilities in the Gaza Strip, and we will publish a report on all we’ve done. We won’t ask the Palestinian people to trust us blindly. This is the Fatah movement and I am certain no one can compete with it, either in the struggle, in the political arena or [in its] achievements. I will tell you something simple: [In] the Jenin refugee camp alone, we numbered 60 fighters together with the Islamic Jihad – 48 from Fatah and 15 from the Islamic Jihad, or more. We killed 32 Israelis and 65 Palestinians were killed as Martyrs (Shahids) (reference to Operation Defensive Shield). We were alone in the Muqata’a (the PA's Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah). Hamas wasn’t with us. But we didn’t condemn them and didn’t say to them: ‘Where were you?’
Already before 1988 (reference to the Intifada, the first Palestinian wave of violence against Israel, 1988-1993), we fought for 20 years, from Beirut to Karameh (i.e., the Karameh battle); from Dalal Mughrabi and Eilabun (i.e., Fatah’s first terrorist attack) through the refrigerator [bombing] and the Savoy [hotel terror attack], to Daboya (i.e., the Beit Hadassah terror attack) in Hebron - lengthy battles in the entire West Bank and Gaza Strip.”

Notes: Operation Defensive Shield - a large Israeli military operation in April 2002 in response to the many suicide bombings during the PA terror campaign of 2000-2005. Israel put Arafat under siege and invaded six of the largest West Bank cities, including Jenin, in an attempt to destroy the terror infrastructure.

The Karameh battle, or Al-Karameh - In 1968, Israeli army forces attacked the Al-Karameh village in Jordan, where Fatah terrorists were launching attacks on Israel. Arafat used the event for propaganda purposes, declaring the battle a great victory that erased the disgrace of the 1967 Six Day War defeat.

Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, killing 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.

Eliabun (Bombing of Israel's National Water Carrier) - on Jan. 1, 1965, Palestinian terrorists attempted to bomb Israel's National Water Carrier. This was the first attack against Israel carried out by Fatah. Fatah refers to the attack as the “Intilaqa”, meaning “the Launch” of Fatah.

Attack with truck bomb(sometimes called the refrigerator bombing): Attack in Jerusalem in 1975 with a truck carrying a refrigerator filled with explosives. 15 people were killed and 77 wounded.

Savoy terror attack - In March 1975, eight terrorists traveled by boat from Lebanon to a Tel Aviv beach. They took over the Savoy Hotel and took guests as hostages. The next morning, Israeli forces attacked and killed seven of the terrorists. Eight hostages and three soldiers were killed by the terrorists during the attack.

Beit Hadassah terrorist attack (Daboya) – terrorist attack in Hebron in which six Israelis were killed: Tzvi Glatt, Eli HaZe’ev, Shmuel Marmelstein, Hanan Krauthhammer, Gershon Klein and Ya’akov Zimmerman and 16 were wounded on May 2, 1980.
