Hamas-affiliated Fatah official: “Armed struggle” is the “foundation for the liberation of Palestine. What was taken by force will only be regained by force”

Official PA TV program Topic of the Day on the Jenin refugee camp on Nakba (i.e., “the catastrophe,” Palestinian term for the establishment of the State of Israel) Day, hosting head of the Monitoring Committee in Jenin Fakhri Turkeman, Fatah Revolutionary Council member Jamal Al-Shati, and [PA] Parliament member Jamal Hweil

The Jenin Monitoring Committee is a committee that coordinates between the factions affiliated with the PLO and the factions that are not affiliated with it, such as Hamas and the Islamic Jihad. Fakhru Turkeman was Minister of Social Affairs in the Hamas PA government in 2006-2007, and therefore is considered to be close to Hamas, even though he is not an official member of Hamas.

Head of the Monitoring Committee in Jenin Fakhri Turkeman: “Processions, slogans, and calls will not return any part of our land that was stolen in 1948. The only thing that will lead to its return is internal unity in every respect, sincerely and seriously, and that there will be armed struggle, the foundation for the liberation of Palestine. What was taken by force will only be regained by force, and everything else is just throwing sand in the eyes and a distraction.”
