Fatah official justifies use of violence against “the Zionist entity” due to refusal to determine borders for Palestinian state

Headline: “Shanaah lectures on ‘The Palestinian State between the anvil of the Israeli enemy and [the hammer of] the regional developments’”

“Fatah Movement Revolutionary Council member Rifat Shanaah held a political conference titled ‘The Palestinian State between the Anvil of the Israeli Enemy and [the Hammer of] the Regional Developments’ on Sunday, April 16, 2017…
Shanaah noted that the Palestinians are trying to find permanent solutions so that the borders of the State of Palestine will be the ’67 borders. However, the state of the Zionist entity does not ever want to determine its borders, and the recognition of the Palestinian state gives the Palestinian people a right to use all means and ways (i.e., term used by Palestinians, which also refers to violence) to rid its land of the occupation and liberate it from the occupier.”

The article appears in the May 2017 edition of the magazine of Fatah’s Information and Culture Commission in Lebanon, Al-Quds, and was posted on the commission’s website Falestinona on May 3, 2017.

The terms "all means," “all forms,” "peaceful uprising/resistance,” and “popular uprising/resistance" are ‎often used by PA leaders to refer to events that include violence and deadly terror ‎against Israeli civilians such as rock-throwing, stabbings and even shootings. See ‎Mahmoud Abbas' reference to murderous terror as "peaceful" during the 2015-2016 ‎terror wave (“The Knife Intifada”), which included numerous stabbings, shootings and car ramming attacks in which 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans and 1 Eritrean) and hundreds wounded: http://palwatch.org/main.aspx?fi=157&doc_id=16437
