PA Minister of Religious Affairs: Israeli court’s ruling that Jews are allowed to pray at Temple Mount pushes “religious war”

"[PA] Minster of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is said that the statement of the Magistrate Court, of occupied Jerusalem according to which the Al-Aqsa Mosque (i.e., the Temple Mount) is a holy site for the Jews and they have a right to pray there, is nothing but a vigorous push in the direction of a religious war, which will bring disaster to the entire region…
Sheikh Ida'is said in a statement he gave yesterday evening [Feb. 28, 2017] that this dangerous development in the Israeli occupation's policy regarding the sites holy to Islam, and primarily the Al-Aqsa Mosque, the pearl of Palestine, is nothing but part of a method that has now become clear, and that its goal is to establish the 'legality' of these violations and to protect them under Israeli 'law.' [He noted that this law] ignores all of the international decisions, which have determined that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is an exclusively Muslim site, and that nobody but them has the right to revoke this [Muslim] sovereignty by any excuse."
The reference to a Jerusalem Magistrate Court ruling apparently refers to how on Feb. 26, 2017, the court convicted Sahar Natsheh, a 48-year-old Palestinian woman, for assaulting Israeli Parliament member Shuli Moalem-Refaeli at the Temple Mount two years prior. Natsheh pushed Moalem-Refaeli and shouted at her to leave the Temple Mount, in an attempt to block her access.
