Official from Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades demands that Abbas adopt "armed struggle" (i.e., violence)

Headline: "Al-Aqsa Martyrs' [Brigades]: The situation in Gaza could explode at any minute, because of prevailing unrest"
"The Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades said that there is unrest in Gaza that could explode any minute. They declared that the signs of this unrest were clearly evident in the incidents of self-immolation brought about by the difficult economic situation. Abu Muhammad, spokesman for the Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades – Martyr (Shahid) Nidal Al-Amoudi branch, said in an exclusive interview with Al-Ayyam that the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza face the same economic problem, but in the West Bank the Palestinian people was allowed to express its opinion and take to the streets, in contrast to what has happened in Gaza… Abu Muhammad held the Israeli occupation mainly responsible for the economic problem. He said that the [Fatah-Hamas] rift is [also] partially responsible for this problem, and he noted that it is important to cancel the stultifying Paris agreement. He said that the occupation has stopped abiding by the Oslo Accords completely, and [he] declared that it is important for the [Palestinian] leadership to respond with a political plan based upon political, military, and cultural resistance to the occupation… Abu Muhammad demanded of President Mahmoud Abbas to accede to demands to dismiss Salam Fayyad's government and to set up a new government that can end the people’s suffering… He declared that it is important to see the armed struggle as strategy rather than a tactic, and as a legitimate right and the sole solution for liberating the land and eradicating the occupation."
