The "occupying and thieving Israelis" "kill us and bombard us", article supports launching rockets at Israel - “South Palestine"
Op-ed by Mustafa Yusuf Al-Liddawi, published following rocket attacks on Eilat from Sinai:
“The Zionist entity used to complain that the towns and settlements surrounding South Palestine (i.e., southern Israel) were targets for Palestinian resistance rockets and attacks, and that they are weak and forsaken because of their proximity to the Gaza Strip, since the simplest Palestinian rockets can reach them and hit various targets in them…
Israelis in the northern and central cities, as well as Eilat and the cities south of Be’er Sheva, enjoyed a life of comfort because the resistance’s rockets did not reach them and they were not forced to abandon their routine to protect themselves from danger. […]
However, the resistance has not stopped, and its rockets have not subsided, and the people of the resistance have not weakened and have not known fear. Possibly, some have disappeared as a result of assassinations and bombings, and the enemy has succeeded in reaching some of the resistance leaders… but those who carry on, who wave the resistance banner, are always more threatening, more forceful and more determined than their predecessors, [and] this has thwarted the enemy’s plots…
Today, in the resistance’s military concept rockets have no limits, no maximum range and no minimizing collateral damage, because the age of the border ‘envelope’ (i.e., the Gaza envelope) has come to an end, the resistance has matured, become stronger, sharper and more widespread to the point where it has made all Israel equally [vulnerable] to its rockets, and put an end to the special status enjoyed by a few regions and cities. There are no longer in-range cities and safe cities. […]
The resistance did well in making them equal… Now everyone is in the same situation – in range [of rockets], scared, crying and wailing, frightened and terrified, refugees dwelling in bomb-shelters and strongholds. No longer anyone is better than his neighbor…
Eilat thought it was protected and safe, that it would remain forever immune to the resistance’s rockets, that the danger would not harm it and that the resistance would not reach it, that its visitors would continue having fun and playing, dancing and undressing, with no one to embitter their frivolous lives and no man of the resistance to ruin their fun. However, the resistance does not stop thinking about ways to reach the city of Eilat because it is part of Palestine; In fact, it is Palestinian Um Al-Rashrash (the Palestinian Arabic name for Eilat), beloved and precious land that is no different than Jerusalem and Ramallah, Haifa and the Galilee. It is a precious part of our blessed land, so why shouldn’t the resistance reach it? Why should the occupying and thieving Israelis enjoy safety in it? Why should it become their safe fortress, their fortified shelter? They kill us and bombard us and then go to the beach in Eilat. They have a good time there and rest up there from the ordeal of bombardment, washing away the signs of blood and relaxing on its warm yellow sand, undressing on its beaches, men and women, in order to avoid a guilt complex or pangs of conscience – as if they hadn’t committed any crime and had not harmed the life of an [entire] nation. Today it is Eilat’s turn to scream, to cry out for help, to ask for assistance, to blame its government of lying and deception when it told them: ‘Be calm, you are safe, go swimming and don’t be scared, relax and don’t worry.’ Here, Eilat is scared, just as Tel Aviv suffered in the past, and it asks its government loudly: ‘Where is the Iron Dome? Where are the Patriot missile batteries to protect us? Where are your generals and your missiles? Where is what you promised in vain?’ And the voice of the [Palestinian] resistance reaches it, deep, honest and steady: ‘At your command, Um Al-Rashrash, we’re coming.’”
