“[PA] Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories [and Deputy Secretary-General and acting Secretary-General of the PLO Popular National Conference of Jerusalem] Sheikh Muhammad Hussein warned against transferring the American embassy to occupied Jerusalem, because this has a danger of instability and because it will increase violence and terror in the region and the entire world.
Hussein said yesterday [Jan. 23, 2017] in a radio interview: ‘The special religious, cultural, historical, and symbolic status of Jerusalem for the Arabs, Muslims, and Christians of the world does not allow transferring the American embassy to it.”
