Official PA TV newsreader: "PLO Executive Committee member [and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF)] Ahmed Majdalani said that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres’ statements regarding the Temple are a dangerous diplomatic deviation and constitute a blow to the trustworthiness of the UN as an international organization, and also identification with the occupying forces rather than identifying with the occupied peoples."

Official PA TV newsreader: "Majdalani said: 'The UN secretary-general must clarify his intentions in everything related to these statements that constitute a blow to the international efforts and give the occupation a green light to continue the steps in Jerusalem.'
This was after the UN secretary-general claimed during an interview with Voice of Israel [radio] that the alleged Temple destroyed by the Romans was a Jewish Temple and was in Jerusalem."

On Jan. 29, 2017, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres was interviewed by Benny Avni of the Voice of Israel radio station. In the interview Guterres addressed the issue of Jerusalem and the Jewish Temple that stood on the Temple Mount there: "It is clear for me that the Temple of Jerusalem that was destroyed by the Romans was a Jewish temple. As it is clear for me that Jerusalem is today a holy city for three religions. These are the facts that nobody can deny." [Voice of Israel Radio. Jan. 29, 2017]
