Silwan and Al-Bustan Neighborhood Defense Committee member Fakhri Abu Diab : “A budget of $62 million is dedicated every year [by Israel] to supporting excavations and tunnels and supporting the settlement and settlers. I am only talking about the Silwan area (i.e., a neighborhood in Jerusalem), the area of the Old City [of Jerusalem], and the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore it needs to be clear to everyone that every stone that they are falsifying, and every tunnel they are opening, and every home that is destroyed is a step in the direction of turning the Al-Aqsa Mosque, God forbid, into the alleged Temple. The occupation is acting strategically, step by step, in order to reach the main step, which is destroying the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establishing the alleged Temple.”
