PA official in Abbas' name: "We are a people who love death more than life"

Headline: “Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim: “The occupiers are doomed to disappear, and the future is ours”
“Secretary-General of the Presidential Office Tayeb Abd Al-Rahim said: ‘The occupiers are always doomed to disappear, and the aggressors are doomed to the dustbins of history. The attempt to scare us and threaten us these days, through one person or another from among those who have threatened to attack the Gaza Strip or the Aswan Dam [in Egypt] (apparently referring to Avigdor Lieberman whose party is joining the Israeli government coalition –Ed.), will remain empty threats, as we are a people who love death more than life when it is Palestine that we are fighting for.’ In a speech he gave in the name of President Mahmoud Abbas at a ceremony honoring the staff of the National Security [Forces], which reached second place in the international fighter competition… Abd Al-Rahim added: We must not discount any recorded achievement, as every achievement is a brick on the path to building the independent state, and every recorded achievement strengthens our belief that the future is ours.’
He clarified: ‘Everyone is saying now that this people needs its own state in the June 4 [1967] borders, with Jerusalem as its capital, but the occupation continues to act arrogantly, like all occupiers who try to ignore this fact. They are doomed as the racist regime in South Africa was doomed, and as the racist regime in Rhodesia - now Zimbabwe - was doomed… so are the tyrannical aggressors in our land doomed, who do not know what morals are, and who claim that their weapon is pure, while it is filthy with our blood. They talk about how they are the chosen people of Allah, and this is the personification of racism – the chosen people of Allah. [They talk] about the purity of their weapon, while it kills our children at checkpoints under one pretext or another. The occupiers are always doomed to disappear, and this is a fact that we must never forget.”
