Fatah members tell mother of suicide bombing planner: Your sons "drew with their blood the road ‎towards freedom, independence and ‎honor‎"

‎     “On the 10th anniversary of his ‎Martyrdom death (Shahada), a delegation ‎of Fatah members in Nablus visited the ‎mother of the commander and Martyr ‎‎(Shahid) Naif Abu Sharakh and Martyr ‎Ghassan Abu Sharakh, in her home in ‎the Old City of Nablus… Fatah member ‎Rashid Al-Namr told Al-Hayat Al-Jadida ‎that the purpose of the visit was to ‎emphasize the renewed commitment ‎and loyalty to the Martyrs, who drew ‎with their blood the road towards ‎freedom, independence and honor. He ‎explained that commander Abu Sharakh, ‎as well as his brother, the Martyr ‎Ghassan, was one of the distinct symbols ‎of the Palestinian revolution in the entire ‎homeland, and in the Jenin district and ‎the north specifically. He also explained ‎that the Martyr possessed the personality ‎of a leader, which filled a role in ‎assembling his many friends, despite ‎their different [political] leanings, and that ‎he used that [quality] in his confrontation ‎with the enemy.‎
On her part, the Martyr’s mother, Um Naif, ‎expressed her appreciation of the visit of ‎her ‘sons’ (i.e., the Fatah members who ‎visited her), whom she described as ‎‎‘esteemed Fatah members’ and ‎emphasized the need to continue the ‎struggle in the way her sons and all the ‎Martyrs died, in order to liberate ‎Palestine.”‎

Naif Abu Sharakh was the commander of ‎the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (Fatah’s ‎military wing) in Nablus. He was involved ‎in many terrorist attacks against Israel, ‎including a double suicide bombing in Tel ‎Aviv on Jan. 5, 2003 in which 23 people ‎were killed and dozens were injured. ‎Sharakh was killed by the Israeli army on ‎June 26, 2004.‎

Ghassan Abu Sharakh was suspected of ‎being involved in a shooting attack in the ‎West Bank in which Rabbi Meir Chai was ‎killed, on December 24, 2009.‎ Ghassan Abu Sharakh was killed while an ‎Israeli army force attempted to arrest him, ‎on Dec. 27, 2009.‎
