PA District Governor of Ramallah praises mothers of teenage “Martyrs”

Headline: "The Ramallah and El-Bireh Education Directorate honored those who excelled in the matriculation exams"
"The Ramallah and El-Bireh Education Directorate honored those who excelled in the matriculation exams in 2017 on the district level, in a ceremony that was held yesterday [July 31, 2017] in Ramallah in the presence of [PA] Minister of Education and Higher Education Sabri Saidam and District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam…
In her speech, Ghannam saluted the struggles of the Palestinian woman, and particularly the Jerusalem residents and the mothers of the Martyrs (Shahids), who receive the news of the success of their children in the matriculation exams at the same time as the news of their death as Martyrs – but they stand firm in the face of this painful situation. Ghannam said: 'Mother of Martyr Muhammad Hattab (i.e., terrorist, threw Molotov cocktails at Israelis) from the Jalazone refugee camp had outlined the future with her son, the high school student, before his death as a Martyr. Mother of Martyr Laith Al-Khaledi (i.e., terrorist, threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli military post) from Jerusalem received the news of her son's death as a Martyr on the same day that they announced the results of the matriculation exams, and said: "May Allah spread his mercy over my son. There is nothing better than sons who have died as Martyrs." This is an example of a Palestinian woman who stands firm, as the occupation wants to kill our dreams of freedom and independence, but it will not succeed in doing so as long as there are mothers like them, and the list is growing.'"

Muhammad Hattab – 17-year-old Palestinian terrorist who was throwing Molotov cocktails at Israeli civilians at the entrance to Beit El, near Ramallah, on March 23, 2017. Hattab was shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.

Laith Fadl Al-Khaledi was shot on July 31, 2015, while being chased, after he threw a Molotov cocktail at an Israeli military post near the town of Yitzhar, south of Nablus.
