PA Minister of Religion: Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza, including Western Wall, “belong only to the Muslims” and “Jews have no connection to it”

Headline: “Ida’is warns of the occupation’s allocation of a mixed prayer plaza for Jews (i.e., Jewish men and women) south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque”
“Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is, warned against the fact that the Israeli government approved the opening of a plaza intended for mixed prayer of Jewish men and women in the southwest part of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque… Ida’is warned in a press release today (Monday) [Feb. 1, 2016] that the dangerous Israeli plans against Jerusalem, which are gaining momentum, are nothing but an attempt to change the reality in Jerusalem’s holy site and are a continuation of the Judaization of Jerusalem, its complete isolation from its geographic surroundings, and the building of a racist separation fence. He noted that the Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza is part of the faith of the Muslims’, and that all of its buildings, plazas, walls, and gates belong only to the Muslims. He also said that the Jews have no connection to it, from near or far, and noted that this offensive against Jerusalem and its holy sites is meant to perpetuate the occupation of it and turn it into a Jewish city through falsification of its history and the uprooting of its original inhabitants.  He emphasized that the Al-Buraq wall (i.e., the Western Wall) is an inseparable part of the western wall of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque plaza, and that the plaza adjacent to the Al-Buraq wall is a pure Islamic waqf (i.e., an inalienable religious endowment in Islamic law), which the Israeli occupation harmed and completely destroyed when it occupied Jerusalem, as there was a residential neighborhood there… Ida’is held the Israeli government completely responsible for the catastrophic consequences of its aggression against the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
