PA Minister of Religious Affairs claims Cave of the Patriarchs is "only ours, Palestinians' and Muslims', and the Jews have no right to it"

“The plazas and passageways of the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., the Cave of the Patriarchs) were filled yesterday [April 24, 2017] with thousands of civilians and visitors from various districts of the homeland and outside of it for the purpose of holding religious ceremonies and participating in the central ceremony held by the [PA] Ministry of Religious Affairs to mark the Anniversary of [Muhammad’s] Night Journey and Ascent to Heaven…
[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Sheikh Yusuf Ida’is condemned the fact that the occupation forces are sowing fear in the hearts of the [Palestinian] civilians and [condemned ] their racist acts, and said: ‘This mosque will remain the beating heart of Hebron, one of the most important and prominent symbols of our Islamic nation. It will be only ours, Palestinians’ and Muslims’, and the Jews have no right to it.’
[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories and [Palestinian] Supreme Fatwa Council Chairman Sheikh Muhammad Hussein… praised those carrying out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) in Jerusalem and at the Ibrahimi Mosque, and mentioned the attack against the buildings and plazas of the destination of the Night Journey of [Allah’s] Messenger (i.e., the Al-Aqsa Mosque), blessings and peace be upon him, as well as against those visiting it. [He said that] this necessitates the maximum efforts to defend it, liberate it, carry out Ribat there, and visit it in order to defend it from the occupation’s ongoing plots of Judaization.”
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “invasion.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
