Israeli Arab MP: Israel carries out a "Judaization frenzy" in the Negev, Galilee, and other areas

“In Nazareth, [Israeli Arab] MP Masud Ganaim of the United Arab List, called to turn Land Day into a day of struggle and unity for all groups of our Arab-Palestinian nation within the 1948 territories (i.e., Israel).
In a statement, Ganaim said: ‘The 38th anniversary of Land Day reaches us while the Judaization frenzy continues to intensify and while our people continue to suffer from the expropriation and Judaization policy that has become clear and evident in the Negev, the Galilee, the Triangle (Israeli region bordering the West Bank with a large Arab population) and in the mixed cities. Considering this reality, we need this flame and this spark, which were lit on March 30, 1976, and kindled a path of struggle based on collective action.”

Land Day – an annual commemoration of the general strike and demonstrations organized by Israeli Arab residents of the Galilee on March 30, 1976 to protest the Israeli government's decision to expropriate land in the Galilee for security and settlement purposes, which it later implemented. During the protests, demonstrators burnt tires, blocked roads, and threw rocks and firebombs. Six demonstrators were shot and killed by the Israeli army and police. Israeli Arabs and Palestinians consider Land Day a national day.
