PA Daily: Put "Not-Great Britain" on trial for its support of the "Hebrew colonialist state"

Headline: “Putting Britain on trial”
Excerpt of op-ed by Omar Hilmi Al-Ghoul, regular columnist for the official PA daily
“The government of the United Kingdom has fulfilled a destructive historical role in everything connected to the life of the Palestinian people – not because of the publication of the Balfour Promise (i.e., Declaration)… and also not because of the executive role of its mandate, which established the creation of the colonialist Israeli state, which is foreign to the heritage and history of the peoples of the Arab nation – rather it is because it continues to support the Hebrew colonialist state, to aid it financially, with weapons, economically, and with incessant immigration of Jewish Zionist or deceived non-Jewish manpower, and insists on not allowing the establishment of the Palestinian state… Britain continues to conspire with the racist State of Israel, which throughout the history of its existence has constituted a direct danger to the life and future of Arab states and peoples in general, and the Palestinian people in particular, and which has threatened the Arab national security with a long series of wars with direct European and American support. As a result, dozens and hundreds of thousands of Martyrs (Shahids), injured, and prisoners have fallen…
Putting Not-Great Britain on trial is one of the most important acts of the struggle in order to defend the interests of the Palestinian people… It is necessary to deepen and develop it (i.e., the act) by suing all the states that have eased Jewish immigration to Palestine during the decades of the conflict and until this day… Likewise, the cessation of all forms of immigration to Israel must be demanded immediately, whatever it (i.e., the immigration) might be termed, as it contradicts the right of return of the Palestinian refugees…
The value and importance of [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas’ call to put Britain on trial lie in advancing the pioneering idea to the stage of monitoring and implementation. The ball is now in the Palestinian court.”

The Balfour Declaration of Nov. 2, 1917 was a letter from British Foreign Secretary Arthur Balfour to Baron Rothschild stating that “His Majesty's government views with favour the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people” and is seen as the basis for later international commitments to establish the State of Israel.
