“[PA Parliament member and] Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement Dr. Mustafa Barghouti condemned the fact that a delegation from the American Congress visited Israel in order to examine the possibility of transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem.
Barghouti emphasized that transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem is unacceptable from a Palestinian, Arab, and international perspective, and constitutes a violation of international law and the UN resolutions regarding the Palestinian issue.
Barghouti said that transferring the embassy threatens every possibility of peace in the region, and that the Palestinian people will not sit by idly faced with the dangerous threat that is befalling Jerusalem and its religious, Arab, and Palestinian status.”
