Restaurant in Gaza offers discount to North Koreans in appreciation to NK support of Palestinians

Headline: “A restaurant in Gaza is offering discounts to North Koreans in response to Trump’s decision”
“A restaurant in the Jabalia refugee camp in the northern Gaza Strip is offering discounts in the prices of dishes to customers on condition that they are citizens of North Korea. This is in a symbolic step that comes as a response to US President Donald Trump’s decision to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. On the display window at the front of the restaurant Rabi'a is a large sign, and on it is the Palestinian flag and the flag of North Korea. On the sign is written ‘Discounts of up to 80% for Korean customers as a sign of appreciation for the role of (North) Korean leader Kim (Jong-un) regarding our Palestinian cause.’ Pictures of the North Korean leader have also been hung on the walls of the small restaurant. This is solely a symbolic step as no North Korean citizen lives in the Gaza Strip, and none of the Palestinian residents of the Gaza Strip have citizenship of this state.”

US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel - On Dec. 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and instructed the State Department to begin preparations to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Trump added that the final borders of Jerusalem will be determined during negotiations.
