Zionists and colonialists "scatter[ed] ‎and persecut[ed]" Palestinians "using ‎Nazi methods"‎

‎“The scheme to steal Palestine did not ‎begin with the publication of the decision ‎to partition [Palestine] and declare the ‎state of ‘Israel’ in 1948. This scheme goes ‎back many years in the history of the ‎Zionist movement, especially since the ‎period of the establishment of the Lovers ‎of Zion [organizations] (1882-1895) [all ‎parentheses in source], and the arrival of ‎the first organized Zionist immigration ‎from Russia in 1882, through Herzlian ‎Zionism (1895-1905) and the election of ‎David Ben Gurion in 1937, when the ‎Zionist movement entered the phase of ‎belligerent Zionism, and until 1948, all ‎under the patronage and with the aid of ‎the world colonialist powers.‎ The Nakba (i.e., ‘the catastrophe,’ ‎Palestinian term for the establishment of ‎the State of Israel) occurred at a time ‎when the Arab nation everywhere was ‎living in difficult conditions, under rulers ‎and colonialists, and the Arab ‎governments were tools in the hands of ‎colonialism and Zionism…‎ When the Arab countries grabbed the ‎reins of power from the Palestinian ‎people, on the orders of the colonialists, ‎they opened the door to colonialism and ‎Zionism, and turned the Palestinian ‎people into lines of desperate refugees… ‎in addition, the Arab governments drew ‎our nation into narrow conflicts that ‎served opportunist interests, bringing ‎about the realization of the aspirations of ‎Zionism and colonialism to scatter and ‎persecute our people using Nazi ‎methods.”‎

Note: Al-Asima is distributed with the ‎official Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat ‎Al-Jadida and lists as its "general ‎supervisor" Othman Abu Gharbieh, who is ‎a member of Fatah's Central Committee ‎and the Secretary General of the Popular ‎National Conference of Jerusalem, the ‎PLO institution that publishes this bi-‎weekly. ‎
