Headline: “Rajoub: The Palestine Cup Finals were postponed by 48 hours due to the occupation’s steps”

“[Chairman of the Palestine Olympic Committee and] Chairman of the Palestinian Football Association Jibril Rajoub announced the postponement by 48 hours of the Palestine Cup Finals return match between the Ahli Al-Khalil (i.e., Hebron) team and the Shabab Khan Yunis team. This was because the Israeli occupation authorities prevented the entry of seven Khan Yunis players and administration members into the northern districts (i.e., from the Gaza Strip into the West Bank) in order to participate in the match, which was supposed to take place yesterday [July 30, 2016] at 6:00 p.m. at the Hussein Bin Ali Stadium in Hebron…
Rajoub summarized all of the steps taken by the Israeli authorities against the players of the two teams: preventing the entry of four Ahli Hebron players into the southern districts (i.e., the Gaza Strip) for the first match [of the finals], preventing the entry of seven Khan Yunis team players and administration members into the northern districts, including the team’s first goalkeeper and goalkeeper trainer, and the interrogations that were carried out during the course of this at the crossing in an inhuman manner, the likes of which were only [seen] in the ‘40s of the last century, in the Nazi prisons and detention cells.”
