“The Fatah Movement in the Sayyida Zainab refugee camp south of Damascus held a screening of the movie Prince of Martyrs (Shahids) about the life of Martyr Khalil Al-Wazir 'Abu Jihad' for the 28th anniversary of his death as a Martyr. The movie showed historic events about the personal life of Martyr Al-Wazir, the campaign of his uprooting in the homeland and abroad, until his meeting with his comrade of the path and in arms, Martyr Yasser Arafat, and his course of struggle within the framework of the movement.
Likewise, the movie showed the beginning of the assembly and training of the self-sacrificing fighter (Fida’i) squads by Abu Jihad and the military training he gave, as he was one of the most important leaders who planned the most outstanding quality military operations (i.e., terror attacks), which shook the occupation, such as Martyr Dalal Mughrabi’s operation (i.e., terror attack, 37 murdered) in 1978.”
Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
