Tulkarem governor honors Palestinian arch-terrorists at Fatah event celebrating Arafat

“Crowds in Tulkarem marked the 11th anniversary of the death as a Martyr of the founding leader Yasser Arafat, in a rally organized by the Tulkarem branch of the Fatah movement at the Palestine Technical University Kadoorie. Tulkarem District Governor Issam Abu Bakr delivered greetings from President Mahmoud Abbas to the participants, and emphasized that Martyr (Shahid) Arafat protected the national identity in a fitting way, and died as a Martyr supporting our people’s rights. Likewise, he mentioned Martyrs Khalil Al-Wazir ‘Abu Jihad’, Salah Khalaf, Abu Ali Iyad, George Habash, Fathi Shaqaqi, Ahmed Yassin, and the other Martyrs who have left a clear stamp on the national battle for liberty, independence, and the establishment of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital… Secretary of the Fatah movement Muayyad Sha'aban emphasized the loyalty to the path of Martyr Yasser Arafat and all the Martyrs and prisoners who sacrificed what is dear to them above all for the freedom of our people and the establishment of its independent state. He clarified that the occupation strives, through its daily crimes against our people, to bury alive the Jerusalem insurgency, which comes to protect the Palestinian honor, and emphasized the importance of the popular peaceful insurgency in confronting the occupation and its daily crimes against our people.”
Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks. These attacks, which killed a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and killing of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
Abu Ali Iyad was appointed head of Fatah military operations in 1966 and was responsible for several terror attacks. The attacks included a bombing in the town of Beit Yosef in northern Israel on April 25, 1966 (injuring 3 people), and placing bombs in the town of Margaliot in northern Israel on July 19, 1966. He was killed in 1971 in Jordan by the Jordanian army when it forced Fatah members out of the country.
George Habash - Founder of the terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The PFLP has planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding in 1967 and throughout the Palestinian terror campaign between 2000- 2005 (the Intifada).
Fathi Shaqaqi - Founder of the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, which has carried out more than 1,000 terror attacks, killing and wounding hundreds of Israeli civilians.
He was killed by Israel in Malta in 1995.
Sheikh Ahmed Yassin - Founder and former head of the terrorist organization Hamas. The Hamas movement is responsible for numerous terror attacks and the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians.
