PA portrays Israel’s killing of terrorist attackers as “murders” of “children and defenseless citizens… under false pretexts”

“The [PA] government began its special meeting today [Oct. 8, 2015] in Ramallah... with a reading of the [Quranic Sura of] Al-Fatiha for the souls of our Martyrs…
The government condemned the crimes perpetrated by the occupation forces before the eyes and ears of the world… that has done nothing to settle accounts with the Israeli government and its Prime Minister [Benjamin Netanyahu] for their decision to allow the occupation forces to murder and assassinate children and defenseless citizens, who have become an easy target for the field executions and cold-blooded murders, which we witness every day, under false, baseless pretexts. The government stressed that the Israeli government bears full responsibility for the escalation [of the violence] and the crimes committed by the occupation forces and settler gangs: invasion of Palestinian territories, road closures, and prohibition of movement outside the limits of the cities and villages, degradation of citizens at Israeli checkpoints, demolition of homes of Martyrs’ (Shahids) families, collective punishment, and use of undercover Israeli troops and settlers to kill our children, wives, and youth, and mistreating them… It [the government] emphasized its support of the peaceful popular uprising, of our people’s right to defend its land and holy places, and its legitimate right to resist by all means approved by the international institutions regarding an occupied people subjected to killing and aggression.”
PA leaders and officials have legitimized Palestinian violence by quoting UN resolution 3236 which "recognizes the right of the Palestinian people to regain its rights by all means." The PA interprets "all means" as including violence against civilians, but has chosen to ignore the continuation of the resolution which states that the use of "all means" should be "in accordance with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations..." The UN Charter prohibits targeting civilians, even in war. Chapter 1, Article 1, opens by saying that "international disputes" should be resolved "by peaceful means."
