PA daily columnist says Abbas’ condemnation of Tel Aviv terror attack was issued to prevent Israeli killing of “innocent Palestinians”

Op-ed by Fatah Revolutionary Council member Muwaffaq Matar in his regular column in the official PA daily

Headline: “A comment or putting the shame to sleep!”
“The commenters and distorters know that [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] announcement regarding the Tel Aviv operation (i.e., terror attack) was phrased with the professionalism of a sharp and sensitive mind that takes into account the bloody Israeli responses, whose victims will be innocent Palestinians…
The intelligent commenter understands that the Palestinian presidency is too smart to fall for what [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, [Defense Minister Avigdor] Liberman, and the commenter himself wants, for a statement that the occupation is the reason for the operation will be directly considered a type of support by the [Palestinian] presidency for the operation!”

Tel Aviv Sarona terror attack - 21-year-old Palestinian terrorists and cousins Muhammad Ahmad Musa Makhamreh and Khaled Muhammad Musa Makhamreh carried out a shooting attack in Tel Aviv on June 8, 2016, murdering 4 Israelis and injuring 16. The terrorists ordered dessert in the Max Brenner restaurant in the Sarona Market, before they began shooting at people. Muhammad Makhamreh and Khaled Makhamreh were both apprehended by the Israeli police, one of them shot and wounded before being caught and brought for treatment in an Israeli hospital. The day after the attack, Abbas said he rejects "all operations that target civilians regardless of the source and their justification."
