Fatah official: US request to extradite Sbarro bombing accomplice constitutes "support for the racist Israeli policy"

Headline: “Gaza: The Prisoners’ Committee condemns the American demands to turn over released prisoner Tamimi”
“Fatah Revolutionary Council member and [Fatah] Movement General Commissioner for Prisoners’ Affairs in Gaza Tayseer Al-Bardini condemned the American request to Jordan to turn over released prisoner Ahlam Tamimi (i.e., terrorist, involved in murder of 15) on the pretext that her name appears on the terror list.
Al-Bardini said that the American request to re-arrest released prisoner and journalist Ahlam Tamimi is a continuation of the harming of the members of our people and of the support for the racist Israeli policy.
The Prisoners’ Committee of the National and Islamic Forces in Gaza also condemned the American demands to arrest and turn over released prisoner Al-Tamimi.”

Ahlam Tamimi was serving 16 life sentences for leading a suicide bomber to the Sbarro pizza shop in Jerusalem on Aug. 9, 2001. 15 people were murdered in the attack, 7 of them children, and 130 were injured. In October 2011, Tamimi was released as part of the Shalit prisoner exchange deal brokered between the Israeli government and Hamas. In that deal, Israel released 1,027 Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit, who had been held hostage by Hamas for more than 5 years.
