“Head of the PLO Political Department Anwar Abd Al-Hadi met yesterday [Aug. 17, 2017] with Russian Ambassador [to Syria] Alexander Kinshchak at the Russian embassy in Damascus… Abd Al-Hadi emphasized that it is impossible to eliminate terror except by ending the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian and Arab territories and establishing the independent State of Palestine, whose capital is East Jerusalem, on the 1967 borders… The two sides discussed the recent developments regarding the Syrian crisis and emphasized their adherence to Syria’s unity and sovereignty in all of its territories, to not interfering in its affairs, to stopping the funding and arming of the armed [rebel] forces, and to the need to unify the efforts in the struggle against terror and to obligate to a political solution through an internal Syrian dialogue.”
