PLO Department for Jerusalem Affairs calls for Ribat in response to Jews visiting Temple Mount

Headline: “Jewish calls for widespread invasions of the Al-Aqsa [Mosque], and Palestinian calls to go out against them”
“The so-called ‘association of alleged Temple organizations’ called to invade the Al-Aqsa Mosque, in order to celebrate its reopening to Jews by the occupation authorities… The PLO Department for Jerusalem Affairs warned of the dangers and repercussions of these racist calls, which are liable to incite religious conflict in the region, and to drag it [the region] into a whirlwind of violence and extremism… The [PLO] Department for Jerusalem Affairs called for increased presence and Ribat (religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) in the Al-Aqsa [Mosque], and to thwart the settlers and extreme Jews’ attempts to enter the Al-Aqsa [Mosque’s] courtyards, defile them, and conduct their Talmudic ceremonies (i.e., Jewish prayers) there."

Notes: "Alleged Temple organizations" refer to religious Jewish movements including the Temple Mount Heritage Foundation, The Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount and Students for the Temple Mount, which spread awareness of the importance of the Temple Mount in Judaism and encourage people to visit the site. On July 14, 2015, several of these organizations held a planned demonstration in Jerusalem's Old City. The demonstration was allowed by the Israeli Supreme Court and protested the discrimination against Jews on the Temple Mount. Jews are not permitted to pray on the Temple Mount and have very limited access to the holy site.
