Official PA spokesman: Prisoner's death was result of Israeli "policy of medical neglect and slow killing"

“The [PA] national unity government led by [Prime Minister] Rami Hamdallah announced the death of prisoner Yasser Dhiab Hamdouni, who died as a Martyr (Shahid) this morning, Sunday [Sept. 25, 2016], after he suffered a stroke and died as a result of it at Soroka Hospital, after being transferred from Rimon Prison [in Israel].
Official [PA] Government Spokesman Yusuf Al-Mahmoud said: ‘The government holds Israel, and what it calls the ‘Israeli Prison Service’ and its medical system, fully responsible for the death as a Martyr of prisoner Hamdouni, and for the lives of the rest of the prisoners in the occupation’s prisons who suffer from a severe health condition and from harsh imprisonment conditions, out of a deliberate attempt by the occupation authorities to implement a policy of medical neglect and slow killing against them.”

Yasser Dhiab Hamdouni - serving a life sentence for participating in the murder of Israeli citizen Avner Maimon in the Palestinian town of Ya'abad in the West Bank (June, 12, 2003). Hamdouni, a member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades (Fatah’s military wing), died on Sept. 25, 2016, after collapsing while exercising in the Israeli Rimon Prison yard.
