Fatah official accuses Israel of indirectly killing Palestinian prisoners by “deliberate medical neglect”

Al-Bardini warned about the severity of the state of the sick prisoners’ health, and noted that 62 prisoners have died as Martyrs under 'the guillotine of deliberate medical neglect,' the latest of them being prisoner Aziz Musa Salem Awisat (i.e., terrorist, attempted to blow up a building and attacked 1 with an axe) from the Jabel Mukaber area in Arab Jerusalem, who died as a Martyr in Assaf HaRofeh Hospital as a result of torture and medical neglect (sic., he died while being treated for a heart condition) on Sunday evening, May 20, 2018. [Al-Bardini] said that the Palestinian prisoners who have fallen prey to the fangs of deliberate medical neglect in the Israeli occupation's prisons are part of the 216 prisoner Martyrs."

Aziz Musa Salem Awisat – Palestinian terrorist who attempted to blow up a building in the Arnon Hanatziv neighborhood of Jerusalem, and wounded an Israeli with an axe at the Western Wall. He was sentenced to 30 years in 2014. Awisat was indicted for aggravated assault in May 2018 for allegedly attacking a prison guard by pouring boiling water over him, severely injuring the guard. Awisat died on May 20, 2018, in Assaf HaRofeh Hospital, while being treated for a heart condition.
