Abbas honors terrorists with “decoration of military honor”
"For Palestinian Prisoners' Day, the President [Mahmoud Abbas] decided to honor the first prisoner of modern Palestinian revolution Mahmoud Bakr Hijazi, the first female fighter prisoner Fatima Barnawi and the first Martyr Ahmad Musa Salameh. The President gave them the decoration of military honor, in admiration of their militant pioneering role and for their sacrifice for their country and people."

Notes: Mahmoud Bakr Hijazi was serving 30 years in prison for attempting to blow up the Nehusha Water Institute in central Israel in 1965. He was released in 1971 and returned to Lebanon in an exchange deal with Fatah for Shmuel Rozenvasser, an Israeli citizen who was abducted by Fatah terrorists in 1970.
Fatima Barnawi placed a bomb in a movie theater in Jerusalem in 1967 that failed to explode. She was sentenced to life imprisonment but was released in 1977 after serving 10 years.
Ahmad Musa Salameh was involved in Fatah's first terror attack on Jan. 1, 1965, which targeted Israel's National Water Carrier. Salameh was killed by Jordanian soldiers following the attack.
